12th June 2022 Meet (Covid rules still apply)

Hey furs, we hope everyone who went to confuzzled had a fur-tastic time and that you all are having a great pride month so far, we’d like to point out that some of our members who have attended the con have come down with covid, so please do make sure that you have a negative covid test before you attended the meet. It’s nearly this month’s furmeet, so be sure to have all of your tails ready for this month’s fursuit walk (weather and suiters dependent), and lots of games for you to enjoy. We all look forward to seeing you furs there. Oh and also please let us know if you’re bringing a suit so we can have enough water on hand for the fursuit walk.

The Venue

13th June 2021(Discord)

Hey furs, happy pride month from those of us at Middlesfur?️‍? As you may or may not know, we’ve added more channels to our Discord including:#?lgbtq-plus-faq and #⚧trans-and-nb-tips along with adding pronoun roles in the #roles section in prep for pride. We are happy that our meet can be so accepting of each other and that you feel comfortable being yourselves.

The sun is starting to heat up and we know the last year has been hard on us all but for this month we are still Discord only until more of us have been vaccinated and things loosen up. Again thank you for all your understanding during these hard times as we’ll be more than happy to see you furs once we can.

June Artist of the Month 2018: Zod

Hey furs, as the heat rages on and those of you who have been to ConFuzzled resuscitate your bank accounts, Neptune brings back from the dealer’s den Zod! He has an impressive attention to detail and use of texture in both his portraits and landscapes. Also, his captivating, more realistic style and subtle expressions bring his subjects to life.

“Hi! I’m Zod, and I’ve been in the fandom since the early 90’s. Back then, I was inspired by shows like Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs, and created toon-styled artwork on traditional media, as well as on the Amiga.

I decided to pursue art seriously around the early 2000s and have spent countless hours painting and attending life drawing classes. With that background, I managed to work my way into the graphic design field as a designer-illustrator. My current style has evolved into a far more painterly look, but I enjoy a bit of line art as well!

My influences come from a wide range of artists, but I’d have to say the ones that have been key to my success include John Singer Sargent, Craig Mullins and Dave Rapoza.”-Zod

10th June meet and 13th June Coffee & Drawing (Please read)

Hey furs,

We hope you are enjoying the sunshine while it lasts! As you may or may not be aware we have gone and made a couple of changes to our meet. Firstly we now have a new logo. This is because recently we were contacted by a furry convention as our old logo looked strikingly similar to theirs. As they had their logo first we agreed to change ours. Secondly, we are now downstairs of the Resolution, this is to have better accessibility for those with limited mobility and for the safety of our beloved suiters. Lastly, we are continuing our coffee and drawing meet on the Wednesday after our traditional meet.

June Artist of the Month: Frith

June’s Artist of the Month

It is June, and for the month of June, our Artist of the Month is Frith! Furs who attend Middlesfur will know both Frith and her artwork from our meets. Frith’s fursona is a jackalope (“A mythical animal depicted as a hare or rabbit with horns, said to exist in parts of North America.” – Oxford English Dictionary) with an eye for shiny objects. We love Frith’s bold outline style with bright colours, she even made our 3-year anniversary pictures last September.

“Hello! My name is Frith and I’m one of the artists here at Middlesfur. I’ve been drawing traditionally for as long as I can remember but only picked up digital art when I was around 13 after I discovered Neopets and an artist called Kuitsuku who drew fanart of the characters. I was entirely hooked by the big-eyed, crisp-lined, ploofy style which, looking back, should have tipped me off that I was a low-key furry … as it stands, I only truly accepted my furriness in 2015 when I attended Middlesfur for the first time and … here I am! I debuted my very own fursuit at this year’s Confuzzled after a more than a year and a half in the works. My fursona is Frith Silverthings, a magpie-jackalope with a penchant for shiny objects. I made his head and paws with lots of help from the community, especially the residents of Middlesfur and Kloofsuits’ tutorials on YouTube. I’m incredibly thankful to everyone who helped me through the process. In the future I plan to create a full plantigrade suit for him and I have no doubt I will continue to receive help and support from this incredible fandom. Thank you” – Frith

We at Middlesfur are so happy to have such a great artist who comes to the meets and produces cool art for us XD
